Our Commitment to the Environment

As part of our extensive efforts to map our supply chain, we are committed to understanding the impact of regenerated cellulose fibers in our supply chain.
These fibers are made from chemically modified wood pulp, and their sourcing has a direct impact on the planet's remaining forests, the ecosystems they shelter, the carbon they store, and the people they support.
We are working with non-profit environmental organizations to educate our employees, engage our suppliers, and ensure our apparel is free of fibers from ancient and endangered forests, including major hotspots: the boreal forests of Canada and Russia ; coastal temperate rainforests in British Columbia, Alaska, and Chile; tropical forests and peatlands in Indonesia; and the Amazon rainforest. We also want to ensure that we do not source fibers from illegally logged forests or from plantations that have recently been converted from natural forest ecosystems.

Action Plan
Support Forest Conservation Initiatives through Fiber Purchasing Practices
Support Forest Conservation Initiatives through Fiber Purchasing Practices
We will work with suppliers and nonprofits to develop long-term solutions for protecting ancient and endangered forests. In addition, some forest management groups follow standards with stricter definitions of sustainability, and thus do more to protect ecosystems. We require our suppliers to support best practice by sourcing wood from Forest Stewardship Council certified forests and plantations or other third-party certification programs that meet consistent ecological, economic and social standards. Additionally, we ask our suppliers to support the development of a robust tracking system,
Promote Awareness, Collaboration and Engagement
We recognise that fashion companies can create change by requiring suppliers to develop cellulosic fibres with reduced environmental and social impact – especially if they join forces. We also recognize the urgency of building environmental awareness among our customers, employees and industry colleagues. We are committed to supporting collaborations that advance forest conservation by participating in the conversations that lead our company and industry to action.
Good Forestry
Our fibers start with a renewable resource: hardwood trees that are responsibly grown on farms.Forests are home to 80 percent of all terrestrial species and help combat climate change by storing carbon in the atmosphere. By partnering with non-profit environmental organizations, we are committed to supporting forest conservation through our fiber sourcing practices. Meaning our clothes do not contain fibers from ancient or endangered forests.
